MLB renews YouTube deal, with 15-game slate beginning next month

MLB renewed its YouTube deal for 15 games this season, starting with the May 5 Nationals-Rockies game. This marks the fourth season that YouTube will carry live MLB games. This adds to the outlets that will stream MLB games this season, joining AppleTV+, ESPN+ and Peacock. “The MLB Game of the Week Live on YouTube” is scheduled for weekday afternoons via the YouTube app, MLB’s YouTube channel and YouTube TV. The telecast is interactive, with fans voting for a player of the game, a live online chat during the game and interactive polls. MLB Network produces these games with Scott Braun on play-by-play and Yonder Alonso as the in-booth analyst. Siera Santos will host the pregame show. The MLB games put on YouTube over the past four seasons have generated 5.4 billion views and 425 million watch hours, according to stats provided by the company. Perhaps more importantly, half of the YouTube audience is younger than 35 years old.
