Marlins partner with Cardless on new credit card

The Marlins have partnered with financial tech firm Cardless to launch a team-branded credit card. Cardless helps brands deliver custom co-branded card products, and this is its first such deal with an MLB franchise. The card, which offers premium rewards and benefits for fans, is now available for Marlins Members and Home Run Rewards users. It is issued by First Electronic Bank, has no annual fee and earns purchase points redeemable for cash and/or Marlins rewards through Home Run Rewards, the team's official rewards program. Fans can earn points on all purchases with the card, including 5x points on Marlins tickets and 3x points on dining, food delivery, drugstore, and gas purchases, plus a 5% statement credit on concessions and retail purchases at loanDepot park.

Fans will be able to redeem points for a variety of opportunities, such as player experiences, ticket upgrades and autographed items, as well as access to other game-used memorabilia, Marlins gear and fan experiences. Fans who sign up and spend $1,000 in the first 90 days using the credit card will earn 10,000 bonus points. Cardless, founded by Stanford graduates Michael Spelfogel and Scott Kazmierowicz, employs a proprietary tech model to provide a superior customer experience through the Cardless mobile app. Cardless has previously launched cards with the Cavaliers and Manchester United. Spelfogel said, “Sports teams and consumer brands are eager for new methods to incentivize their most loyal fans, who should be rewarded through transparent, affordable, and secure products." Marlins Chief Revenue Officer Adam Jones: "The real significance is continuing to find ways to extend and deepen our engagement with Marlins fans."
